The RG58 cable is mostly used in 2-way communication systems like police radio calls and amateur radio, wireless LAN antennae, marine SSB and VHF. The cable is also the generic carrier of signals in laboratories and works in combination with BNC connectors to test and measure equipments like oscilloscopes. However, there are some limitations to the use of RG58 cables as they only support a maximum of 30 nodes in a distance of 185 meters.
